For our fifth class on October 10, 2016, we met at 2pm in 414 Fdn.

Professor Diane Lewis gave a lecture on the history of The Cooper Union, and the architecture from which Cooper's Foundation Building derived its iconic form, tracing the lineage back to Schinkel's Bauakademie, constructed in Berlin in 1836.

The talk was followed by a walkthrough elucidating the original intent of John Hejduk's Foundation Building renovation, beginning with the curtain wall in the building's lobby, and moving through the colonnade, library, and throughout the second floor.
